JOHN DAVIS

Southwestern Pottery

Alpine, Texas

JOHN DAVIS

A native to West Texas, John Davis creates pottery inspired by the Chihuahuan Desert. He creates pottery vases, tower lamps, wall sconces and the ever-popular Raku Spirit Rattles in his Alpine, Texas studio, where he mixes old school ceramics with modern technology.

John and his wife Robin are colorful examples of cottage industry artisans. John Davis bought his first kiln on graduating from high school in 1973, and has crafted pottery virtually in the same building ever since.

"We're committed to making quality American craft, listening to good music while we do it, and keeping our beloved studio dogs, Ginger and Olive happy and supplied with good treats."

Feel free to contact the Ft Davis gallery to confirm the availability of any John Davis original pottery shown here.
